Agreed. One of my favorite books. I despise that horrid disaster of the film travesty...er..."version". IMO the only good thing about that waste of film was the costumes being reusable in Firefly.

The set designs were great tbh.
Perhaps...but I played nids - I'd want them to win :D - might muck up the viewing - but I see your point. Yes, they were well done sets...I still really resented how the book was burned in effigy by that dreck movie...sorry. It could be you can find the positive more readily than I, but although I usually don't really care all that much, with that particular book it was like the movie "writers" had beaten up my friend. I wanted to...well..."not be nice".

Honestly it would be better as an HBO mini series as then you can break the story down more. 100% agree with you there. A miniseries would give it the proper time to be able to tell the story. The CGI possible today could do that story justice. That so needs to happen. *sigh*

Shame!!!! Buddy of mine in an IT class in high school fell asleep on his keyboard once. Dismissal bell rang and he woke up with the right side of his face looking like a keyboard.
My friend calls that "qwerty-face" :D...not that I ever give a reason for anyone to use such a word, of course...

I've actually never played WoW and don't really have any interest in doing so...but I confess to finding some amusement at the thought of ticking off the folks who rabidly hate WoW in EVE. Almost posted this in GD, but I wouldn't want to be responsible for causing any mental anguish...

So I'm going to have a 10-year-old girl visiting for a week, and I want to try to introduce her to PC gaming (all she knows is console atm ). Because of the restrictions I have to work with I'm not thinking up much so far...
1) She doesn't like "violent" games, so not big on shooting or hacking... (there go most of mine right there)
2) Smart kid, but most of what I have is probably too complicated for her (and doesn't fit into rule #1...I so wish I could introduce her to EvE, but that would violate guideline #1 and #2 :D )
3) If I found something she liked, I'd probably buy it for her, but to begin with I would rather not buy several games not knowing if she will even like them.
Anybody have any ideas?

You make a valid point. I like videogames, but she'll get plenty of screentime anyway... Well...I'm taking her to a museum for children (supposedly not boring, supposedly kids actually like it...). Zoo is maybe an addition now too. She actually is going to go on a boat...but not mine and no actors that I'm aware of.
